What will ben 10 omniverse be about

The original Ben 10 series was very good, Alien Force taking on a more mature tone was even better and Ultimate Alien was just as good. But it is here with Omniverse where things really took a nosedive, and not just slightly. We're talking about to the extent that- apart from Gwen and Kevin's brief surprise return in "Many Happy Returns" and the ending of "So Long and Thanks for All the Smoothies", which is the closest Ben Omniverse gets to recalling the tones of its franchise predecessors- has little to make it watchable.

It's not quite bad enough to be one of the worst animated shows of all time but it is definitely one of the most disappointing. The animation is done in a style that isn't that appealing, the colours are flat, the backgrounds are lacking in detail and the character designs are far too over-stylised Ben's overly-large eyes are hugely distracting, in fact some characters don't have pupils or sometimes even eye-sockets.

There is nothing intelligent about the dialogue either, it is rather goofy in tone and is far too dumbed down generally.

The story lines are predictable and simplistic rather than interesting and lack any sense of danger or fun, often too over-reliant on action and comedy hi-jinks and has nowhere near enough character development. Ben is not a likable character at all in this show, and along with the writing and story lines one of the main reasons why the show doesn't work.

Here he is annoying, acting like a spoilt brat who always wants to get his way. Another mistake is to do with his character development, here he does a lot of fighting the bad guys but very little else, the previous series in the franchise actually spent time with him and the other characters which was one of their many strengths.

Rook is a little easier to like, but at the same time the writing doesn't develop him very well at all and he is too much of an excuse to be a contrast to Ben.

Gwen and Kevin apart from one episode are written out, thus removing any kind of heart and depth that was present before. The bad guys don't pose much of a threat either, which diminishes any sense of conflict, they also don't that much personality which makes them bland and forgettable as well.

There is a very talented voice cast involved but the voice actors are not used very well, some are made to do annoying voices and some sound uninterested, for a voice cast of this calibre to hear a going-through-the-motions quality creeping in was sad and rather wasteful.

To conclude, Omniverse is incredibly disappointing, with two bright spots that are not enough really , but for the Ben 10 franchise it is a huge step backwards. Was this review helpful? This might not be as good as my last but I will try to make it useful as possible. In my opinion Ben 10 Omniverse is the best show the franchise had to offer. The only reason why a lot of people don't like this show is because art style, theme song or the fact that Ben is not serious. However the theme can be very annoying but the actual episodes are gold. Plus he has access to all of his aliens and it definitely deserves a higher rating then just 5. Okay I have to admit breaking up with Julie and bringing back Kai wasn't the best move the show had to offer but other then that it is worth the watch if you are a true fan of Ben 10 like I am.

Since it made a lot of changes to what Ben 10 should have been and just wasn't anything special but I shall discuss Ultimate Alien some other time on another review but its no where near as bad as the reboot. Those episodes would blow your minds. On top of that if you watch the episodes really closely you would notice there is a lot of references and easter eggs to upcoming events, pop culture and generally other show.

Which I really like about this show. Omniverse also brought back stuff from the Original series and Alien Force which Ultimate Alien got rid of. At least I know Ben doesn't need to go Ultimate to win a fight or isn't a lousy shot at shooting and Ben doesn't go cold hearted when Kevin mutated again.

However Omniverse did also mess up the continuity by air episodes of events which would have happened before that actually episode if you get what I mean. Again don't get me wrong the art style is good and the voice actors all did a marvelous job at voicing there characters at least they never overcasted Dee Bradley Baker as every alien like they did in the previous two shows. In the final two seasons we have Mark Hamil himself join the franchise as the main villain which was very fun.

Plus no matter how much you would hate Omniverse there would always be worst out there Ben 10 and Teen Titans Go! At least Omniverse actually has that good balance between action and comedy unlike todays shows on Cartoon Network which are just mostly comedies and literally no action shows plus it was a good way to get younger audiences interested in the Ben 10 Franchise which I think Ultimate Alien was lacking especially when it came to some of its writing.

As I have meantined on my review for Ben 10 Alien Force don't listen to the haters of the show you never know you might actually like it. Overall if you are a true fan of Ben 10 and you were not that happy with the changes in UA or because of the reboot abomination I would recomand you watch Omniverse to complete the whole franchise.

Just one more thing to add on. Next time you do a review on here do research before putting anything erlevent down and Ben 10 Omniverse is not like Teen Titans Go, its nothing like Teen Titans Go!. The end.. The end to one of my favorite franchises as a kid. Ben Omniverse is in par with in terms of story writing and plot compared to the 3 previous installments but it does bring a satisfying ending to the franchise.

The writing could have been better but was solid for the most part. The plot was good though it had some flaws and issues and was quiet inconsistent at times The flashbacks are solid. The atmosphere was likable, wacky and full of fun similiar to that of the original. Some episodes were good while others fell of alot. Watch options. Storyline Edit. An alter ego for every occasion. Did you know Edit. Trivia Originally the omnitrix was supposed to allow Ben become alternative versions of himself instead of aliens.

This later became the idea for Ben 10 Omniverse which has to do with alternative versions of Ben. Goofs In the opening title sequence, Ben's ten alien transformations are represented; however, the ninth is Cannonbolt rather than Ghostfreak. Ghostfreak is one of Ben's original ten, which should be represented, while Cannonbolt is part of a set of transformations he acquires later. Quotes Grandpa Max Tennyson : Being a hero isn't about letting others know you did the right thing, it's about you knowing you did the right thing.

Crazy credits At the end of the closing credits, the Cartoon Network opens to reveal Ben setting the Omnitrix and activating it; the logo closes before it's seen what he becomes.

Connections Featured in Screenwipe: Episode 5. User reviews 62 Review. Top review. The original Ben 10 series is one of the better Cartoon Network shows I can remember from recent years. In fact, its end coincided with the end of a glorious era of adventure-oriented animated shows that were smartly written and could be enjoyed by adults and kids alike.

To summarize everything in two sentences, Ben 10 tells the story of a ten-year-old boy whose boring summer vacation with his grandpa and his cousin takes an exciting turn when he -- not quite by sheer luck -- gets his hands on the most powerful device in the universe, The Omnitrix. He now has the dream prize of every narcissistic bad guy out there and that's not a good thing, to put it mildly.

Where to start the praise from? I guess the animation art isn't too bad; it is great, as a matter of fact. The colors aren't too bright but of the right measure, and the scenery in the background always has a realistic feel which befittingly captures the vivid imagination of its talented writers. It's not too conspicuous but that's a good thing. An integral facet of every episode, it can be safely said. As for the main characters, all of them are likable as well as relatable.

Ben reminds the viewer of a more mischievous incarnation of their childhood self: a not-so-typical good-hearted douche bag with a penchant for adventures which at his age is understandable. Max is the perfect blend of a strict but caring grandpa who treasures whatever little time he gets to spend with his grandchildren. The man is dignity and warmth personified.

Ben's cousin sister, Gwen, is a little obnoxious I won't sugarcoat it but as the show progresses you tend to start acknowledging her complementary role -- accepting her nerdy but interesting ways. I absolutely love the villains, most of whom are given their own menacing angles and evil motivations.

Vilgax, Enoch, Zombozo, Dr. Animo, Kevin -- all made invaluable contributions to the charged, tense atmosphere of the show. Hey, the hero is only as good as the villains he's up against and Ben 10 comprehends this as well as anything.

This review would probably feel incomplete if I didn't give a description of the very thing that's the root of this see-saw battle: the darn watch. Ben 10, Atomic-X Eon. Charlie Adler. Kimberly Brooks. Carlos Alazraqui.
